Lot's of Crafty Inspiration!

Hello friends!
Time for a brand new issue of Create magazine! It's the free scrapbook and papercraft magazine that I happily design for. Packed full of 291 pages of inspirational layouts and articles. This issue features the company Doodlebug Designs. Scrapbook Generation is offering 20% off all Doodlebug products at scrapbookgeneration.com from March 9-15 to celebrate this collaboration! (No coupon code necessary. Discount shows at checkout.)

Scrapbook Generation is also where I'm fortunate to be working! I love helping people find their supplies and filling online orders. It's fun to gather up orders and see what other people want to purchase.

Here's a peek at one of my contributions to this issue. A layout featuring Doodlebug products with photos of my Grandfather and I back in the 90's. I have such wonderful memories of their farm and playing in his garden.

Wishing you all a wonderful day, Lindsey

Playing with Paper and Ink

He'll friends,
What better way to start off the first day of national craft month than to play with some new tools and supplies. I have been seeing many stampers blogging about how much they love their new MISTI stamp tool and decided it was time for me to jump on board. After watching a few YouTube videos and playing with it can say it really is a super awesome tool for getting exact beautiful stamped  images. I think now I need to expand my stamp collection! Also new for my stash was the line of Abandoned Coral Distress Inks. This is part of the new color a month release that Ranger is doing this year and I am loving it. I'm not usually a fan of coral shades but this one is lovely. So I sat down to just play with the color and try out some stamping, so I started with a manila tag and then colored my image in with distress markers and Prima watercolor pencils. Added a bit of shimmer with Wink of Stella markers and a few embellishments.

Here's a full list of supplies used :
Tag- Ranger, ink - Ranger and Memento, stamps - Tim Holtz and October Afternoon, pencils - Prima, flowers - I Am Roses, stick pin - Maya Road, markers - Ranger and Wink of Stella, punch - Martha Stewart, charm - Tim Holtz, ribbon - Hug Snug, stencil - Tim Holtz

Snow Day Creations

Hello friends!
It's snowing outside, so what better way to spend my day than crafting and blogging.
I created this layout using one of my favorite photos of my grandmother and great grandfather. Since my passion is for crafting vintage style, I find working with old photos to be so easy and enjoyable.
I used the Open Book line by Maggie Holmes from Crate Paper This is a huge line with tons of embellishments!

Along with the layout I also create a feature in every issue of Create magazine called, Party Trio. Which consists of a gift bag, card and party favor. For the Jan/Feb issue I went with a Valentine theme. I really wanted the gift bag to look like an old worn vintage suitcase. I really had fun looking up photos and finding metal brads and buckles to create this look. For my favor I cut out 2 paper hearts and hand stitched them to create a pocket to fill with candy. I used the Authentique Crush line because it had the perfect vintage styled valentine papers, instead of the bright colors that I typically see.

You can see these and more in the latest issue of Create magazine at scrapbookgeneration.com

Wishing you a lovely weekend, Lindsey

New Year, New Crafts!

Hello friends!
I hope you have had a wonderful start to the new year. It's definitely been a cold start to the year! I've been busy scrapbooking and cardmaking. Doing it both for my self and for my job keeps me very busy, but I enjoy it. This is the second year I've been blessed to be apart of this awesome online magazine. It's called Create and it's published by Scrapbook Generation. I'm lucky enough to work for them at their local store here in Missouri and was so thrilled to be asked to help them with their online magazine. You can view this issue and past ones here at scrapbookgeneration.com.
The best part? The issues are are free!!! So please check them out.

I also teach card classes every month at the store. I am so lucky to have a great group of ladies that come to class. My favorite style of course for cards are vintage, so I was very happy to find some cute paper by Authentique and Graphic 45 for my upcoming Valentine class.
Here is a peek of the cards as I finish them up.

Wishing you a wonderful day, Lindsey
