Retro Snowman Illustration

Hello friends!

Despite his misfortune, I adore this cute snowman illustration. The colors, the style, it's so perfect! I'll definitely save him and find a way to incorporate him in my Christmas crafting next year!

Art Deco Christmas Card

I love the beauty of Art Deco cards.
This beautiful card also had a lovely Sugar Kissed Color palette.

This card also came with a beautiful colorful envelope. I love when I happen upon one of these! I wish new envelopes came with such beautiful liners.

Wishing you a very merry day, Lindsey

More Pages From My Vintage Retro Style December Daily

Sharing a few more pages today of
my vintage retro style December Daily album.

This album has been quick and easy to make as I'm just leaving places that I've designated for photos. I'll go back after the craziness of Christmas is over and print and add all my photos.

That also allows for me to create several pages at a time.

I have to say I have really enjoyed the creative process on this album. Just going block by block. Pulling out my rarely used stamps and really making these pieces my own!

Thank you for stopping by today!

Christmas Is Getting Closer!

Can you believe that Christmas is almost here?
Are you ready? Have all the shopping done?
Gifts wrapped? Meals planned?
Oh my! It always feels a little overwhelming at this point.

I've also been thinking ahead into the new year and working on projects for the Feb. issue of the new Create magazine which is premiering in January.
We love to include readers in our upcoming magazine. Each month we will ask the readers a question and include as many as we can in each issue!

The question for the February issue is...• What style of scrapbooker are you...events (generally covering a special activity or event with large amounts of photos) or moments (generally telling a specific story with a small amount of photos)? Be sure to include why you choose one style over the other! For your answer to be published, also include your first and last name, and your city and state (or province). We reserve the right to edit your answer for length.
• Send your email answers to karin@scrapbookgeneration.com, with "February CREATE question" in the subject line.
• Your deadline is December 31.

We also have a readers submission call going on right now for the Feb. issue.
You can easily go to the Scrapbook Generation blog and see a trio of sketches to follow to create layouts and cards. You have until Jan. 6 to submit so please try it out and submit your projects!

Hope you've enjoyed seeing a few more
happy close ups of our Sugar Kissed Christmas display.

Wishing you a merry day, Lindsey

Vintage Shabby Santa Tag Tutorial

Hello friends!
Another tag tutorial to share with you today. I wanted a soft sweet feel to this tag and I'm very happy with how it turned out.

I first started by embossing my tag with snowflakes using an embossing folder and my Big Shot machine.

Then I covered the entire tag with a layer of Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.

Now for the fun and slightly messy part. I poured out a bit of off white acrylic paint onto my nonstick craft sheet. Then dipped my finger into the paint and started swiping my finger across the tag. I love the shabby feel this gave the tag.

Next it was time to add a little patterned paper to the tag. I picked this cute polka dot from October Afternoon's Silent Night line.

Then I rubbed some clear liquid glue across half of the tag and
sprinkled Clear Distress glitter across it.

Next it was time to ink up some seam binding ribbon with a mix of Barn Door  and Fired Brick Distress ink. I then tied it into a bow at the top of my tag.
Then I added a plain white doily to the tag. I love adding these to my projects! Adds a nice vintage touch. You can find them in the cake decorating department at your local craft store.

Now it was time for my Santa. This cute little guy comes from the ephemera pack from the Fancy Pants Merry Little Christmas line, but you could use any graphic of Santa or Christmas related.

I then wanted to add some festive greenery to my tag, so I die cut these holly leaves from the Tim Holtz Festive Greenery die and inked them with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink.

I added them to the tag along with a small red adhesive gem.
Then I added a couple small die cut Christmas sayings and adhered to the tag to finish it off.

Thank you for visiting our blog today as we get closer and closer to the big holiday!

Wishing you a lovely day, Lindsey

Vintage Style Christmas Shadowbox

I recently made a Christmas shadowbox for a friend and thought I would share with you. She wanted one that was done in a very retro vintage style. So I included lots of old card images and started looking around in my stash and local craft stores for little goodies to add.

The shadowbox itself is by Tim Holtz. It's called a Printer's Tray.
This was such a fun project! I had a hard time parting with it, once it was finished.

I painted it a bright cheery red color and started layering my embellishments.

The majority of patterned papers are by October Afternoon. The rest was made up of older items in my stash and the card images that I printed from Pinterest.

I found some great little pieces to add to it from the doll house miniatures section at my local craft store.

What's nice about these boxes are that the boxes are removable, so I could have changed it had I need to have it more customized.

It was a fun process to gather images for this project. I tried to always pick bright bold colors that would print nicely.

I think this is my favorite little box. I love the 2 cute little bottle brush trees.

This small wooden train was the perfect little addition for this shadowbox.

Hope you are enjoying this Christmas season!
Thank you for stopping by today.

Wishing you a merry day, Lindsey
