Two Crazy Crafters Night Before Christmas

Two crazy crafters the night before Christmas all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar kissed ideas danced in their heads.
They went all through the house looking for glitter
They snipped and glued and sprinkled with sugar.
They wanted to remain in a sense of vintage,
So they crafted and created with a sweet old image.
They valued the old More precious than gold.
And hoped to share more than they could hold.
Snuggled under afghans with hot chocolate and whipped cream
They drifted away with their thoughts and their dreams.
They remembered Christmases past with Barbie dolls and cookie jars,
Sweet teddy bears and Hot Wheel cars.
Treasured memories old and new,
Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year, too!

Love to All! Twyla and Lindsey

5th Year Blogiversary

Hello friends!
We have now been blogging for 5 years!
It's amazing how fast the time has gone, how many wonderful people we've met and the life long friends we've made.
Typically on this day we share a giveaway and this year was to be no different. We wanted to celebrate our blogiversary with you all and party, but I (Lindsey) came down with a nasty cold and wasn't able to finish making our giveaway prize. :(
So we are postponing the giveaway till after Christmas.
So I will sit here coughing and sniffling and share with you a few photos of our Christmas tree!
Some of you may remember my huge 7 1/2 ft tree from years past. I had it filled with Hallmark Barbie ornaments. This year I decided to try more traditional style ornaments and use this as our main family tree. It's mostly filled with vintage ornaments, but this lovely candle is a new vintage style ornament that I found at Target. I just adore it! I wish I could just have the tree full of them!

This little lantern style ornament is one of my favorites! The blue one beneath it is also a new one from Target.

See the cute little mushrooms on this one?!! We received a set of these from a dear sweet life long blog friend.

We just want to take a moment to say thank you for reading our blog and coming back to see what crazy things we two crafters get ourselves into! Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. We truly enjoy and appreciate each and every one we receive! These past 5 years have been filled with so many ups and downs and it's been wonderful to have a place to come and share our lives and know that there are others out there who feel the way we do and have similar passions that can relate to us. Thank you so much to our older readers and new readers as well! We hope to be here for more years to come.

Wishing you so much happiness, Lindsey and Twyla

Still Christmas Crafting

Hello friends!
Still not ready to put down my Santa stickers and poinsettia flowers!
I think I will craft Christmas all the way till December 24th!

I love crafting in a retro vintage style. It's just so me! And this Make It Merry line by October Afternoon mixed with Martha Stewart's newest Christmas line was a perfect combination to make another mini paper bag album.

I love filling the pages with candy canes, holly and glittered swirls to make it feel merry!

I just can't get enough of this paper with the kids siting in the chair! I cut it out and pop dotted it on the page.

These little glittered bow ornaments were a fun find at Michaels.

Wishing you a beautiful day, Lindsey!!!!

This line had such cute images! The style that I love!

And just the perfect color combinations!

Christmas Antiquing and a Vintage Card

Hello friends!
One of my favorite things to do is antiquing. Especially at this time of the year!
I love looking for vintage Christmas treasures. Just getting to see all the fun decor from years long ago can be so inspiring!

This booth makes me nervous. Ha! Too much fragile stuff packed in way to tight. It's a lovely sight, but I am usually so overwhelmed that I never find anything in a booth like this.

Now this sweet little antique shop always knows how to create the prettiest vignettes!

Love the ornaments hanging from the branches!

So many pretties!

I love the simple style of this tray of vintage ornaments!

I was very perplexed by this arrangement of plates!
I kinda like it..... what do you think?

A lovely vintage Christmas card to share with you today! I adore the colors and style of this one!

Have a wonderful day, Lindsey

Vintage Christmas Tablecloth

Hello friends!
I decided this year I needed a vintage Christmas tablecloth!
I have a few aprons in my collection but not one tablecloth, so as soon as Halloween was over, I started scouring the antique shops for vintage Christmas items, particularly a tablecloth!

I saw so many that were just so so. A few poinsettias or holly berries that were pretty, but I wanted one that screamed, cuteness!!!.
Luckily, I finally found one! It's just what I wanted. Cute Santa heads, ribbon and a mini holly pattern. Just perfect for our Sugar Kissed display.

I can't believe Christmas is almost here!!!! Where is this month going?
Ahh!
There is still so many fun activities and crafts to create and not enough time!

Wishing you Christmas Cheer, Lindsey

Up On The Rooftop - A Mini Tutorial

Hello friends!
A cute little tutorial to share with you today!
I created this little chimney with a vintage Santa piece and thought I would show you how it's done.

I first started with a 7 inch square of white cardstock.

I then used a Tim Holtz Brick embossing folder to emboss the entire piece.

Then I pulled out my Festive Berries, Fired Brick
and Walnut Stain Distress Inks. Layering my colors to create a vintage look.

I then used a score board to score your basic box fold lines.

Then I folded it and glued it together.

Next, I wanted a Icicle style border around the top of the chimney so I used this Fiskars Jester Border punch and cut a strip of white cardstock.

Then adhered it to my chimney. To finish it off, I added a mix of White Gold and Snowflake glitter to make it resemble snow.

Add a little Santa and that's it! Around this part of the country it's pretty easy to find these little mini flocked vintage Santas. I am so addicted to them!
Another great use for this besides a decoration is a place setting. Like in the photo below, take a sticker or mini label and write in your name and adhere to the front of the chimney.

This is how he is displayed in our Sugar Kissed Display. Right in front!

Have a lovely day, Lindsey
