Barbies for Christmas!!!

I got several Barbie goodies for Christmas this year!

My Mom got me the Holiday Barbie which I collect every year. This year she looked wonderfully Sugar Kissed!!!

My Brother got me the Generation of Dreams Barbie. Isn't her dress awesome?! I just love it! Mattel also makes a print of the sketch of the doll which I hoped to get and a matching silk scarf in the dress pattern.

It was a fun Christmas and I have lots more to show!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I am getting very excited for the new year! I can't wait to show you all the pretty stuff spread out on my craft table!
Have a great day, Lindsey

Twyla on Tuesday

This year's Christmas was such a special time. I hope you won't mind if I show you some of the beautiful gifts that I received. These adorable salt and pepper shakers were a gift from my son. He knows what I like! They are from Lefton and they are part of a set called Miss Priss.

Lindsey found this set for me in a local flea market. I believe it is also by Lefton and called Dainty Miss.

I also received this beautiful bowl. Isn't it gorgeous?! I love these vintage items more than things from the mall. My kids know this and shop for me in antique stores. I also got several items from ebay. Some beautiful postcards that I look forward to sharing with you in the future.

Lindsey did surprise me with this awesome gift. It is a copy of our blog in book form! How cool is that?!

It's not complete yet, but we're going to get it in sections.

She ordered it from Cutest Blog on the Block and they do a really nice job!

It's scary to think that your blog could disappear and this is a great way to insure that all your work is not lost forever. I really can't wait to get the rest of it.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing some of my Christmas gifts. I'll show you a few more in the next few weeks.
Once again, we want to thank everyone for making our Sugar Kissed Christmas such a fun project for us and we are very excitedly thinking of some Valentine ideas to share. We can't wait!
It's been nice doing a Twyla on Tuesday post again!
Wishing you much happiness!

Merry Christmas Eve!!!

I thought I would share more photos with you today of my pink Barbie tree!
This tree was a Christmas gift about 5 years ago. I discovered it at Macy's Department store and I talked about how much I wanted it constantly! But I knew that I wouldn't get it because of how very expensive department store trees are. But on Christmas Eve night which is when we open our presents, my Mom surprised me with this as my last gift! I put it up that night and kept it up until late spring! It is a 7 foot tree and is very wide. I usually somehow squeeze it into my bedroom but this year I have it in my craft room. Since I spend more time there I knew that I would get to enjoy it more! My craft room is too messy for a full shot of the tree but here is as far back as I dare show you!

I love collecting Hallmark Barbie ornaments! My Grandmother started collecting the Barbie ornaments that matched the Holiday Barbie each year and I just started to build my collection from there.

I certainly don't have all of them yet but I love them and hope that some day I will be able to go back and buy the special ones that I missed.

Every year Hallmark amazes me with their beautiful new ornaments! I was given a beautiful Barbie ornament display that came out this year that I featured in a Barbie Wednesday post several weeks back. I also received 2 of the ornaments from this years collection. They have yet to make it to my tree and may not, I think I will enjoy them all year long!

If any of you are out doing your day after Christmas shopping then you might stop by your local Hallmark store and see what they have left! This year's collection featured some of my very favorites like a large replica of Barbie's famous open toed heel in glittery pink and small replicas of both Barbie and Ken in their original boxes also available in miniature size.

Luckily, now days I can go to ebay to find more of these beautiful ornaments. Of course I am always on the look out at Flea Markets and Antique stores to find good deals on these beautiful little works of art.

Thank you for all of your lovely comments and feel free to leave a comment on our last post to be entered into our Blogoversary Giveaway!
Merry Christmas, Lindsey

Sugar Kissed Ideas

Hello, Dear Friends! Remember when I shared the picture of the salt box that I loved which started me on a quest to find a salt box of my own to decorate? Well, I found one!

I just love it!

It's such a pretty salt box and I had such fun putting some Sugar Kissed decorations inside.

Now Lindsey wants to share with you a quick and easy last minute tutorial for a Santa Trio display.
First start by printing the three different Santas from a Vintage fold out card. I printed on heavy printer cardstock. The thicker the paper the better they will stand.

Cut out all three Santas.

So that you have all three pieces.

Then start with the one that says "Merry Christmas" and punch two holes on right side only about an inch apart.

Now take the one that says "And Best Wishes" and cut holes on both sides.

And take the one that says "For A Happy New Year" and cut holes on the left side only.

Now take a piece of ribbon push through the bottom hole from the front and push through to the back and pull in the top hole. Do this on both sides connecting the 2 Santas together. Tie a knot and snip the ends diagonally. Do this on both sides. Now your Santa Trio will stand together.

Now to Sugar Kiss your Santas! I added white loose glitter along the white edges at the bottom and on the hats of the Santas.

I then took Rock Candy Stickles which is a clear glitter glue and went across Santas beard. This is what it looks like before the Stickles dries.

Here is what they look like when they are done!

A happy Santa trio!

I hope you enjoyed this easy tutorial! Come back tomorrow for a special Blogaversary post and a giveaway!!!

Well wishes, Twyla and Lindsey

Merry Wall Hanging Tutorial

Hello friends,
Today I want to share a little merry wall hanging tutorial with you.

First start by printing this sweet image and cutting out the girl.

As my background I used this Merry bingo card. These bingo cards are by Jenni Bowlin and they come in large cards or packs of small cards. The Merry card I am using is 5 x 7.

I then took this pink wavy patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket's Jolly by Golly paper line and cut a section of it out to go across the card.

I then took a sheet of vintage song sheet music and turned it to the back and hand drew several holly leaves.

I cut them out in both the song sheet and pink cardstock.

I also took a regular size hole punch and punched a sheet of red cardstock to make 3 circles that will be my holly berries.

I then took a red ink pad and ran it across the edges of my leaves.

I then cut a sheet of red patterned paper 5 1/2 x 7 1/2 as my background. I then glued the bingo card to that and then glued my piece of pink paper to the middle.

I then glued the 3 holly leaves to the bottom corner. Slightly overlapping each one.

I then added the 3 holly berries.

I cut a Christmas tree from green patterned paper but you could also find a picture of a tree to print on the internet if you'd rather.

I glued them in the middle of the bingo card. Laying the girls hand on the tree and the other looking like she is hanging an ornament that is an adhesive jewel.

I then punched holes in the top corners.

I pulled through ribbon and knotted on both sides.

And it's done! I hope you enjoyed this super easy project!

Please come back tomorrow for another super easy last minute tutorial!
Lindsey
